Bake the most beautiful and delicious base for your cake with this mix of Zeelandia Moscalux raw material. For example, make a delicious whipped cream cake or bake the perfect base for your marzipan or fondant cake.
The sponge cake, also known as a sponge, has good volume, a fine and regular structure, and a short bite. This mix has a delicious neutral flavor and a light yellow color, making it easy to color with our food colorings. You can also easily make tiered cakes thanks to the weight-bearing capacity of the sponge.
Ingredients for a round cake of 24-26 cm:
- 330 g sponge cake mix
- 250 g eggs (5 medium eggs)
- 33 ml water
Preparation: ensure all ingredients are at room temperature and preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan oven 160 °C). Mix everything together with a mixer for approx. 7 minutes at the highest speed. Mix for another 2-3 minutes at low speed (so that any air bubbles in the batter disappear). Butter the baking tin and fill it (1/2 to 2/3 full) with the batter, then bake the cake until done. The cake is done when it feels springy to the touch. Remove from the tin immediately after baking and let it cool briefly on a wire rack.
Baking time: approx. 25-30 minutes
Note: Do not open the oven during baking.
