Bake a light chocolate sponge cake with this mix from Zeelandia raw materials and immediately create a perfect base for your chocolate cake.
The sponge cake, also known as a sponge cake, has a rich chocolate flavor and a soft texture that is easy to work with. Ideal as a base for all kinds of cakes where the chocolate really needs to stand out.
Ingredients for a 26 cm round cake:
- 330 g mix
- 200 g eggs (4 medium eggs)
- 70 ml water
- Mixer
- Baking tin
- Butter to grease the baking tin
Preparation: ensure all ingredients are at room temperature and preheat the oven to 180°C (fan oven 160°C). Mix all ingredients together with a mixer for approx. 7 minutes at the highest speed. Mix for another 2-3 minutes at low speed (so that any air bubbles in the batter disappear). Butter the baking tin and fill it (1/2 to 2/3 full) with the batter, then bake the cake for approx. 30 minutes. The cake is done when it feels springy to the touch. Remove from the tin immediately after baking and let it cool briefly on a wire rack.
Note: do not open the oven during baking.
